Backup Tools

Look over the ideal checklist for backups. Which tools can meet those? My short list:

• rdiff-backup
• Back-In-Time
• rbackup
• rsnapshot
• duplicity / Deja Dup / Duplicati
• Roll your own - Script It
• Bacula
• many, many, many, others (Borg, git, ... ) exist.

Note that I'm not listing tar or zip or any of those tools. They were created for much smaller needs. If you only need to move some data, say 500MB or less, tar isn't terrible. But it isn't a great backup tool, since it doesn't do versioning.
